cloud day #238 29th December 2014
A quintessential summery sky with white and blue, almost Greek colours. Pity about the raging easterly!

cloud day #236 27th December 2014
A sky of lavender blue and grey, at times merging, other times a contrast with light blue. Soft evening light.
cloud day #235 26th December 2014
Floating islands, and some grey...accompanied by strong easterlies for the past few days. When oh when will they cease?

cloud day #230 21st December 2014
Cloudy again, although warm, and at times sunny today, albeit with the typical Auckland 'four seasons in one day' ubiquitous drizzle, as accompaniment.
cloud day #228 19th December 2014
The one thing that makes a Friday better, is a sunny Friday...we are overdue one of these that's for sure. The heat is a surprise coming on the back of grey, drizzly, windy days that were for most part cold.

cloud day #227 18th December 2014
Ahhh, at last some blue! Not really enough, or sustained, for a feeling of summer, but blue nonetheless, not to be scoffed at that's for sure, after what we have endured the last couple of weeks!

cloud day #226 17th December 2014
More of the same, but worse what with the constant gale winds knocking baby fruit off the trees and thunder and lightning and rain...the sun was out a couple of hours ago as a tease, and then promptly retreated under the next onslaught of grey...

cloud day #225 16th December 2014
Sigh. The sky is getting same-y now, and everybody is getting cranky because of the infernal unrelenting wind (make that gales). Summer this is not.

cloud day #223 14th December 2014
Any earlier today, and this would not have been the picture. Cold, blustery strong easterly winds and rain have characterised most of the day until this! If you look closely there is a faint reflection of the rainbow to the left. Magic.

cloud day #221 12th December 2014
This must be day four, or five, that we have had these glowering skies with not a peep of sun. It's up there somewhere cos it's darned humid, but there are no rays to bask in, just endless grey/white...

Tuesday, 9 December 2014
cloud day #219 10th December 2014
Yes, that's right, it's summer...an Auckland-style summer, where wall-to-wall sun doesn't happen until we are all back at work...!

cloud day #217 8th December 2014
A diagonal 'whoosh', as if blown, under force, from a powerful source of propulsion...and background layers for interest ;)

cloud day #213 4th December 2014
Look at the painterly effects in this shot - the bruising colour in the upper cloud, smudged, with the contrast of the white clouds underneath. Wonderful stuff.

cloud day #210 1st December 2014
For the first day of December, a stunning vivid blue interspersed with white. Looks lovely up there - on the ground it's a somewhat different story with a cool southwesterly...

cloud day #209 30th November 2014
If you are interested in making seasons arbitrary, then today is meant to be the last day of spring. Note the heavier clouds on the hills, sitting on top of them actually, and the fine cirrus above, or may be they are broken up cumulus. Dunno. A less wet more sun version of yesterday.
cloud day #208 29th November 2014
The penultimate day of November is cloudy, with a chance of....showers. In other words, typically spring in Auckland with equal amounts of sun and rain and a fair smattering of wind to go with...

cloud day #207 28th November 2014
I like it when the images produce a 3D effect...these clouds seemingly floating past, almost touchable.
cloud day #206 27th November 2014
Layers of violet, cerulean blue, cornflower, baby blue - there are many descriptions for the hues of blue there are!
Tuesday, 25 November 2014
cloud day #205 26th November 2014
More space today, the monotone has broken up, into distinctly different hues of blue and white clouds, thick in places, not-so-thick in others. I prefer this to yesterday's!
Monday, 24 November 2014
cloud day #204 25th November 2014
Another misty sky, mist hanging around the hills making for autumnal vibes. Humid. Not much demarcation in the clouds which invariably signals rain.
Sunday, 23 November 2014
cloud day #203 24th November 2014
This is an atmospheric sky, reminiscent of a London, or San Francisco fog. Except the hills are still visible. There is a fine, light, drizzly spray. Not enough to call rain.

cloud day #200 21st November 2014
This is a momentous post - number 200. I have made it thus far, and had I realised what a commitment blogs are, I might have thought twice! (and this is just a small one)...

cloud day #196 17th November 2014
Back to cloud, thick cloud, grey and white cloud, rain cloud - no matter which way you look....sigh...
cloud day #194 15th November 2014
Thi image looks as though it ha been done through monochrome, but it hasn't (not knowingly anyway!). A grim day today with rain, wind, stormy.
Thursday, 13 November 2014
cloud day #193 14th November 2014
Thicker, or more cloud evident today, even though it is slightly less rugged weather-wise, to what it has been earlier in the week. Hopefully the southerly will completely disappear by tomorrow ;)
Wednesday, 12 November 2014
cloud day #192 13th November 2014
Again, today the sky belies the true state of the weather we are experiencing on the ground. A cold bitter southerly (sort of refreshing) that you wouldn't think possible looking at this sky!
Tuesday, 11 November 2014
cloud day #191 12th November 2014
It's been a day of contrasts today. One minute, fast and furious wind and rain - the next, sun. Not especially warm sun unless you are behind glass however. Fabulous clouds here resting atop the hills.

cloud day #190 11th November 2014
In contrast to the last few days, here is a familiar picture! I seem to have posted so many of these of late...get prepared for bad weather!
