cloud day #148 30th September 2014

This is the early morning sky for the last day of September. Dramatic huh? Shadows, light, broodiness. It was sort of amazing that a nice day transpired!

cloud day #147 29th September 2014

Swirling layers, blue sky, a typical spring sky where anything might happen, and frequently does. As far as the weather is concerned anyway ;)

cloud day #146 28th September 2014

A much heavier sky than yesterday, that's for sure. Reflective of the rain we are told is coming (more rain?)!

cloud day #145 27th September 2014

Reminiscent of freshly pressed juice, where the more solid particles have migrated to bottom of the glass, so is this sky heavier at the bottom, with discernible lightness at the top; a tinge of sunshine apparent.

cloud day #144 26th September 2014

A sky dotted with flattish clouds, looking like layered, flattened cotton wool - well the clouds in the background anyway!

cloud day #143 25th September 2014

Lots going on here today, with heavier layers of cloud to the rear and softer, fuzzier cloud front. A more troubled sky than yesterday that's for sure.

cloud day #142 24th September 2014

The sun rising in the sky, with vapour-y clouds, must mean a warm day. Sounds good to me.

cloud day #141 23rd September 2014

Compared with yesterday, the clouds are a little more ragged around the edges in this image, as if they are starting to break up, like a fraying egg white on a poached not-fresh egg...

cloud day #140 22nd September 2014

Lovely light reflected from behind, with grey centres in the clouds, hanging there as if by magic...

cloud day #139 21st September 2014

A lovely morning, speaking of a promisingly rain-free day (hopefully). One can't rely on it though...the clouds are floating blissfully, like that dessert where meringue-like objects float in some sort of liquid...

cloud day #138 20th September 2014

A great image; conjuring perfectly peaceful, calm springtime. Never mind the horrendous days we have left behind - all is forgiven!

cloud day #137 19th September 2014

Clouds that look 3-D are a fave, looking so close as to be able to touch them, with layers behind. A great image!

cloud day #136 18th September 2014

Yes, some blue does exist. Lovely clouds, floating away into the ether, and crouching over the hills, also.

loud day #135 17th September 2014

Some lovely shades in this image I think. Whispers of lilac, mauve, almost-fluoro pink (yes, if you really look), contrasted with the murkier, nicotine-stained lower back there a lightening of the skies I ask? The possibility of reprieve from the windy rain?

cloud day #134 16th September 2014

Wooo more of the same (see yesterday's entry). At least we are getting rain!

cloud day #133 15th September 2014

Not the best of days, as evidenced above, with a grey gloom cast over everything. is this spring? I guess it is, Auckland-style...

cloud day #132 14th September 2014

A lovely end to the day, with soft hues and a mix of cloud types swirling around. A favourite time to take shots...

cloud day #131 13th September 2014

After yesterday, a benign sky, with layers of cloud (non-threatening) in the background, hovering above the hills. Hail the blue I say!

cloud day #130 12th September 2014

This is full of foreboding and drama. A day of rain has culminated in this brooding, gloomy sky. Enjoy!

cloud day #129 11th September 2014

Back home to familiarity in the skies and the tree which has grown more and more leaves as spring progresses. A lovely sky today.

cloud day #128 10th September 2014

A thick white blanket is how I would describe this image. It reminds me of a view often encountered from an aircraft's window when the plane is up higher than the clouds.

cloud day #127 9th September 2014

This is the shot from where I am down country. I love it with its dramatic cloud flying up and seemingly off, and the pale calm of the sky beyond...

cloud day #126 8th September 2014

Heavy, heavy cloud cover this morning, giving way to an average day I'm told. I wouldn't know, as I am out of Auckland for the next few days. That means that for the first time since this blog started, I will be taking images from a different site. I know, I know, I stated at the start that I would commit to all the images being taken from the same spot, for a year...but geez, I need a break sometimes!

cloud day #125 7th September 2014

What a stunner of a day, after yesterday it's even more welcome. Fluff balls atop the black-green velvet hills. Wonderful!

cloud day #124 6th September 2014

Again, a cloud-laden sky reflective of the weather today. Not cold, but showery and, at times, heavy heavy thudding rain.

Friday, 5 September 2014

cloud day #123 5th September 2014

The threat of rain, then the rain (showers, more aptly), then some sun - all evidenced in the sky at this moment in the day.

Thursday, 4 September 2014

cloud day #122 4th September 2014

Dramatic huh? It's raining, and late in the day, and a lovely shade of almost, but not quite, indigo...

Wednesday, 3 September 2014

cloud day #121 3rd September 2014

There's an awful lot going on in this shot. Dark brooding colour, swirling light, temptations of blue, with a tree emerging from winter (just). A rib-like pattern at the left, whale-ribcage-like?

cloud day #120 2nd September 2014

Yay for the sun, and some clouds to go with, rather than obscuring (which to my mind happens way too often).

cloud day #119 1st September 2014

A lovely evening shot, all blue and grey and lemony gold, showing the folds and creases in the hills and the tree, which is starting to regrow leaves - yay!

cloud day #118 31st August 2014

The final day of August has rolled around and there has been an improvement in the weather thankfully!

cloud day #117 30th August 2014

If this photo looks identical to yesterday, that's because it is. I have had to 'cheat' a little, as the weather was so inclement that I didn't even venture out with the camera. Terrible I know, to do this, but rest assured that the sky looks like this, except not exactly, sorry!

cloud day #116 29th August 2014

Woo, that's some cloud activity! A harbinger of the weather to come, I fear....
