I managed to get a photo between cold, hard rain and cold sun…if such a thing is possible! It has been coldly sunny but then in an instant turns coldly rainy, with heavy almost-sleety rain. We're heading for mid winter, that's for sure!

cloud day #56 30th June 2014
The final day of never-to-be-repeated June, 2014, has been characterised by rain all day. Evidenced by the sky. Too too much rain for my liking this winter…

cloud day #54 28th June 2014
Day's end. The softest of blues, the ever-so-tenuous hint of pink. The sky belies the weather the day brought. Scudding rain and wind tempered by outbursts of sun. The sky above innocently unaware of its effects on humans!

cloud day #53 27th June 2014
As the countdown to the end of June looms, the weather has ranged from sun to rain to wind to thunder and lightening this week. I managed to get this shot just as the rain fell, hence the brooding sky with a hint of blue underneath, as proof of the earlier sunshine!

cloud day #52 26th June 2014
Today's photo is again unexpected given we are heading toward mid winter. Scudding white clouds on variations of blue...

cloud day #51 25th June 2014
This looks like a painting, or a weird kind of computer generated image of cloud trying to look like cloud and not really succeeding! A limpid rainy evening, that's what this represents...

cloud day #50 24th June 2014
I've reached the half-century - on here anyway ;)
an early morning shot, lots of insulation-like fluff...
cloud day #48 22nd June 2014
If you look closely, you can just make out a wisp of elongated cloud hovering above the hills, and then the beginnings of something more significant. But cloudless it is from this perspective. I was terribly tempted (and as a result left somewhat tormented) to waver from my dedication to photos from this perspective only, as to my left were glorious clouds turning pink by the setting sun.

cloud day#46 20th June 2014
What a gorgeous photo of the dying day…white curd-like cloud up high and wispy lavender-pink in the middle and the sun reflected in the cloud at the bottom with the softest baby blue as background. One of my faves so far of this project...

cloud day #45 19th June 2014
Loving this. Two layers with blue between, it could (almost) be summer. Fluffy clouds at the back in front of a white bank of cloud and wisp at the front. Ubiquitous tree to the side ;)

cloud day #44 18th June 2014
A lovely-ish light, almost lavender, with hint of nicotine-ish yellow, smoke-grey and white. The cloud at the back has dipped down to touch the hill (seemingly)...

cloud day #43 17th June 2014
Ten seconds, literally, after this shot was taken, it poured down. Proving that rain doesn't only fall from leaden, monochrome skies, as I think I have previously posted!
cloud day #42 16th June 2014
There's a lot going on here this morning. I detect a hint of malevolence in the dark clouds at the bottom of the photo, and a lightening above although still with a sense of dark. The blue is so deep as to be almost black...

cloud day #41 15th June 2014
Lots of cloud activity this morning, yay! Again, a three-dimensional effect with slightly glowering clouds seemingly very close and benign-er wisps (heavier than wisps perhaps), behind.
cloud day #40 14th June 2014
A perfectly glorious day today, as evidenced by the sky. A wispy almost vapour-like trail slicing through the blue. Just like summer. Sigh.

cloud day #39 13th June 2014
A cloudless day in Auckland today - who would've thought. A cold night ahead perhaps. Lovely shades of pink, peach, blush and blue…

cloud day #38 12th June 2014
Oops! I have twisted the camera around so things are a little skewed. The faithful tree is there, off to the side as usual though! A lovely early-ish morning sky...

cloud day #37 11th June 2014
Things have cleared somewhat this morning. The ferocious wind has calmed and the rain has ceased its relentless battering of the windows and doors - fun while it lasted and one can be indoors and snug. This, then, is the morning after.
cloud day #36 10th June 2014
For the first, and I hope only time on this year-long project, I have no photo. The weather was too stormy, too wet, too windy to be able to get a photo. If it's any consolation, the sky was steely grey, in its monotone guise...

cloud day #35 9th June 2014
This is what a rainy sky looks like on dusk. Generally, to my naive amazement, rain falls out of a monotone grey sky, quite the contrary to childhood picture books where menacing black fluff balls have rain coming out of them. It's been raining all day, and the sky has been relentlessly monotone grey.

cloud day #33 7th June 2014
A sprite has messed with the front cloud and sent it into a minor frenzy! I like the three dimensional effect in this photo.

cloud day #32 6th June 2014
I'm loving the arrow-like cloud, pointing ever higher, like a random sword or something, and the contrast between the bank of cloud at the bottom of the photo and the wispier cloud above.

cloud day #31 5th June 2014
Another sky reminiscent of an Old Masters painting. On the other side of the hill the sunset is a stunner; we get the reflected glory only. Tempted though I am to take photos from another/other aspect/s - and I see some perfectly awe-inspiring clouds on my travels - I am committed for now to taking from the one perspective.
cloud day #30 4th June 2014
An early-ish morning shot, more sun than anything, but some cloud hovering above the hills. Perfect indigo blue...

cloud day#28 2nd June 2014
See what you make of this sky, leaden in the extreme but with a sun nonetheless…not much rain from the lead however...
